Facebook Font Symbols to Copy and Paste
Hearts, stars, frames and sparkles are the quickest way to make a name or bio stand out. Tap a symbol to copy it, then paste it next to your text. Symbols are plain Unicode characters, so they behave like the styled letters above.

The basics
What Is a Facebook Lettertype?
Let us be straight about this first: Facebook does not install fonts, and you cannot pick a new typeface for your profile. A โFacebook lettertypeโ or โspecial font on Facebookโ is really a set of Unicode characters that look like a different font. Unicode contains many alphabets that resemble bold, italic, script or bubble letters. This generator swaps each plain letter for its look-alike, and the result is ordinary text that survives copy and paste.
That is why it works in a post, a comment or your bio without any app or extension. It is also why it has limits. Because these are characters and not a font, an older phone or an unusual app may not have a glyph for every one of them and will show a box or a question mark. Common styles such as bold, italic and script are the safest. Screen readers may also read styled text letter by letter, so keep it short and use it for decoration.
If you are looking for a quick way to do this, you are in the right place: pick a style, copy it and paste it. You can use this unicode text converter for English letters A to Z and digits 0 to 9; other scripts stay as they are. Prefer the original Facebook page for short bio and post styles? Try our Facebook font changer.
Using it takes three steps. Type or paste your text in the box at the top, scroll the live list or use the category pills to find a style you like, then tap it to copy. Paste it into Facebook like any other text. If you are unsure where to begin, the Name, Bio, Post and Comment tabs pin the styles that tend to look best in each place, and you can still browse all of the 180+ styles in 30+ categories whenever you like.
Profile name
Facebook Lettertype for Your Name
A name is short, so it is where a facebook name style font shows best. Open the Name tab above and you will see the styles that read well in a small line pinned at the top: bold sans, bold serif, bold script, small caps and circled bubble letters. Longer or heavily decorated styles are harder to read once the name is shrunk next to a profile photo.
One honest warning. Facebook asks for the name you use in everyday life and can reject or flag names that look decorative. A styled name may be refused when you save it, or it may be changed later. Many people keep the profile name plain and use a nickname field, their intro, a Page or a username where styled text is accepted. Check Facebookโs current name rules before you change a profile you rely on.
Stylish names for girls
If you want a fb stylish name font for girl profiles, nicknames or a Page, use the Stylish names for girls presets. Each one wraps your name in a pair of symbols, such as flowers, sparkles, hearts or stars, and picks a matching style. Type your own name first, then press a preset; press another to swap the decoration instead of stacking them. Copy the result from the list below, or tap a symbol in the strip to add your own touch.
A few simple rules keep a styled name readable. Pick one style and stay with it. Prefer styles where each letter is still recognisable, because friends need to find you by searching. Avoid upside-down, mirrored or heavily stacked styles for a name, since they are hard to read and can look like spam. Watch the live preview under the input: if the name looks clear there, it will usually look clear on Facebook.
Intro and bio
Facebook Bio Font Style
Your intro is a good home for a facebook bio font style, because there is no real-name rule here. Keep it short and pick one style. Italic and script feel personal, small caps looks tidy, and a flower or sparkle at each end adds warmth without clutter. The Bio tab pins these styles at the top.
Mixing five styles in two lines looks noisy and is hard to read on a phone. A better recipe is one styled line for the hook and plain text for the details, with a symbol or two as separators. If you want line breaks, type them in the box above and they are kept when you copy. Always paste the result into the intro field once and read it on your phone before you save, because a rare character may look different there.
Want a stylish text generator for Facebook that also gives you ideas? Open the category pills and try Aesthetic, Cursive, Small caps or Decorative. Add a heart from the symbols strip, and you have a bio that is clearly yours.
For example, a short intro could be a script first line with your name or nickname, followed by a plain line such as where you live or what you do. If you run a hobby page or a small shop, put the keyword people would search for in plain text, because styled letters are not matched by search. The pretty line is for people; the plain line is for everything else.
Posts and comments
Lettertypes for Posts and Comments
This is where facebook font bold matters most. A normal post on a personal profile has no bold button on desktop web, and Facebook does not turn **asterisks** or _underscores_ into formatting the way a markdown editor does. Typing markdown on Facebook just shows the symbols. Unicode is the practical way to get bold or italic words in a post. Groups, notes and a few other places may offer their own formatting, and it changes over time, so check the editor in front of you.
Use bold for a heading and plain text for the rest. The Post tab pins bold sans, bold serif, underlined bold and framed styles, which look like a title above a paragraph. Do not style a whole long post. It is slower to read, screen readers handle it badly and search does not match it. A styled first line and a plain body is the sweet spot.
For comments, short is better. A bold italic word, a small-caps tag or a single strikethrough joke gets noticed; a styled paragraph gets scrolled past.
Captions on photos and short announcements are another good use. A bold first line such as an event name or a sale date makes the post easier to scan, and the preview above shows how a styled opener and a plain sentence sit together. Avoid putting important details such as addresses, phone numbers or links in styled letters, because people cannot search, copy or tap them as easily, and a screen reader may not read them out clearly.
Informational
What Font Does Facebook Itself Use?
People often ask what font Facebook uses, and the answer is less exotic than you might expect. The interface text mostly follows the system font of the device. On Windows that is typically Segoe UI. On iPhone, iPad and Mac it is Helvetica Neue or San Francisco, Appleโs system font. On Android it is typically Roboto. Because Facebook can change this at any time, treat it as a general picture, not a guarantee.
The logo is different. The lowercase โfacebookโ wordmark is a custom design that is descended from the typeface Klavika, redrawn for the brand. You cannot type it with a keyboard, and no styled text on this page copies it. If you want the exact font code for the interface, the reliable method is to open your browserโs developer tools on a Facebook page and read the font-family that is applied right now.
None of this affects the styled text from the generator. Your pasted letters are separate Unicode characters, so they keep their look inside whatever font Facebook uses for the rest of the page.
You may also see the San Francisco font mentioned. It is the system typeface Apple introduced in 2015 for its own devices, which is why Facebook text on an iPhone looks different from the same page on a Windows laptop. It is designed for Apple platforms, so you will not see it on a typical Android phone, where Roboto takes its place. None of these is a font you can pick inside Facebook.
Settings
Changing Facebook's Own Lettertype
This section is for a different goal: making Facebookโs own text bigger or easier to read. The generator above cannot do that, and Facebook has no setting that swaps its typeface. What you can change is the size and the look of the display, and you do it on your device.
- iPhone and iPad: open Settings and look for Display & Brightness or Accessibility to set the text size. The Facebook app follows it.
- Android: open Settings and search for Font size and style. Menu names vary by phone maker.
- Computer: zoom the page with Ctrl and plus on Windows, or Cmd and plus on a Mac. Ctrl and zero resets it.
- Inside Facebook: the Display and accessibility settings include options such as dark mode.
If the text is hard to read rather than too small, look for a bold text or high-contrast option in the same accessibility menus. These settings apply to the whole device, so the Facebook app picks them up along with everything else. Use them for reading comfort, and use the generator when you want your own words to look different to other people.
Cost and privacy
Why These Lettertypes Are Free
There is nothing to buy, download or install, and nothing to upload. A font file is something you install on a computer for a design program. These styles are only text characters, so the whole tool is a small piece of code that runs in your browser, and it costs us almost nothing to offer. That is why the answer to โcan I download a Facebook fontโ is that you do not need to.
Your text is converted on your device and is not sent to our servers, so it stays private. You can try as many styles as you like and test them for free online before you copy the one you want. The same copy-and-paste approach works well beyond Facebook, for an Instagram bio, a WhatsApp status, a Discord nickname or a LinkedIn headline, so use the tool pages below when you want steps for another app.
To keep expectations honest: the tool does not give you a font file, it does not change how Facebook itself looks, and it cannot guarantee that every character shows on every device. What it does is give you a fast, free way to try many looks, see them in a preview and copy the one that fits, without creating an account.

Got questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change the font on Facebook itself?
No. Facebook has no setting that changes its own typeface. You can make everything bigger with your phone's text size, your browser's zoom or Facebook's display options, but the font stays the same. This generator does something different: it creates styled text that you paste into your name, bio, posts and comments.
How do I make my Facebook name stylish?
Type your name above, open the Name tab, pick a short bold, script or small-caps style and copy it. Then paste it where Facebook lets you edit your name. Be aware that Facebook asks for the name you use in everyday life and may reject or flag decorative characters, so many people keep the profile name plain and style their intro, bio and posts instead.
Do these fonts work in the Facebook app?
Usually, yes. The styles are ordinary Unicode characters, so you can paste them into the Facebook app on iPhone and Android as well as on the website. Common styles such as bold, italic and script display almost everywhere. Rare symbols can look different from one phone to the next.
Why does my styled text show as boxes or question marks?
The device or app has no glyph for one of the characters, so it draws a box or a question mark instead. It happens mostly on older phones and with rare styles such as blackletter or some decorated styles. Switch to a more common style like Bold Sans, Italic or Script, and the problem usually disappears.
Is this Facebook lettertype generator free?
Yes. It is free, needs no account and nothing is installed. The conversion runs in your browser, so the text you type is not sent to us or stored.
Can I download a Facebook font?
There is nothing to download. The styles on this page are text characters, not font files, so you copy and paste them. If you need a real font file for a design program, that is a different thing and is not what this tool makes.
